The Roborock Q5 Pro Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo is engineered to bring convenience and efficiency into your cleaning routine, especially for pet owners. With features like 5500Pa suction power, a DuoRoller brush, advanced LiDAR navigation, and a 240-minute runtime, this robotic vacuum is poised to tackle dirt, dust, and pet hair with ease. Before diving into the detailed review, let’s explore what would make the Roborock Q5 Pro a worthy addition to your home cleaning arsenal.

Buyer’s Guide

1. Suction Power

The Roborock Q5 Pro boasts an impressive suction power of 5500Pa, making it highly effective on various surfaces, from hardwood floors to thick carpets. This level of suction is particularly beneficial for households with pets, as it picks up pet hair efficiently and minimizes tangling, which often plagues traditional vacuums.

2. DuoRoller Brush

The innovative DuoRoller brush design enhances cleaning efficiency by working effectively on different floor types. This dual-brush system improves hair pickup while reducing tangling, making it an ideal choice for pet owners.

3. LiDAR Navigation

Roborock’s PreciSense LiDAR navigation utilizes laser technology to scan and create detailed maps of your home. This allows the Q5 Pro to navigate through your space intelligently, avoiding obstacles and ensuring comprehensive cleaning coverage without missing any spots.

4. Long Runtime

Equipped with a powerful lithium-ion battery, the Q5 Pro offers a remarkable runtime of up to 240 minutes on a single charge, allowing it to clean large areas—up to 3767 sqft—without interruption. This is especially convenient for larger homes.

5. Smart No-Go Zones

The customizable app features allow you to set no-go zones, ensuring that the robot avoids areas where you don’t want it to venture, such as pet bowls or delicate furniture. This level of control is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness of specific areas in your home.

6. Vacuum and Mop Functionality

The Q5 Pro features a SnapMop system that allows for simultaneous vacuuming and mopping. This dual-functionality ensures that fine dirt and stains are effectively treated in one go, although it’s important to note that the mopping function primarily provides a superficial clean.

7. Large Dustbin

With a capacity of 770 ml, the dustbin can handle a considerable amount of debris and pet hair, reducing the frequency of emptying. This is particularly advantageous for pet owners who may deal with a higher volume of hair.

8. User-Friendly App and Voice Control

The Roborock app provides a user-friendly interface for managing cleaning schedules, adjusting suction power, and accessing additional features. The compatibility with voice control systems like Alexa and Google Home adds to the convenience, allowing for hands-free operation.

9. Dimensions and Design

With a slim profile (13.9″L x 13.8″W x 3.8″H), the Q5 Pro can easily navigate under furniture and into tight spaces, ensuring a thorough clean even in hard-to-reach areas.

Detailed Review of the Roborock Q5 Pro Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Roborock Q5 Pro Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo is a feature-rich device designed for modern households, particularly those with pets. Here’s a comprehensive review based on its features, performance, and user feedback.

Performance

The standout feature of the Roborock Q5 Pro is its 5500Pa suction power. This level of suction effectively removes dirt, dust, and pet hair from various surfaces. Users have reported that it performs exceptionally well on carpets, especially when the Carpet Boost feature is activated via the app. The DuoRoller brush technology further enhances cleaning performance by reducing tangling, ensuring that pet hair is collected more efficiently.

Navigation

The PreciSense LiDAR navigation is another highlight, allowing the Q5 Pro to create a detailed map of your home quickly. This means it can navigate smoothly around furniture and avoid obstacles with ease. The 3D mapping feature is particularly appealing, as it provides a visual representation of your home, enabling you to customize cleaning routes and set precise no-go zones.

Cleaning Methodology

The simultaneous vacuuming and mopping capability of the Q5 Pro is a significant advantage. While the mopping feature isn’t a thorough scrub, it effectively handles light stains and helps maintain a fresh appearance on hard floors. Users appreciate that it can tackle both tasks in one go, making weekly cleaning less time-consuming.

Battery Life and Efficiency

With a runtime of 240 minutes, the Q5 Pro can clean large areas without needing a recharge. This is particularly beneficial for multi-story homes or larger living spaces. Moreover, the large 770 ml dustbin minimizes the need for frequent emptying, allowing for extended cleaning sessions without interruption.

User Experience

The Roborock app is intuitive and easy to use, providing users with full control over the vacuum’s functions. Scheduling cleanings, adjusting suction power, and setting no-go zones can all be done with a few taps on your smartphone. The voice control compatibility is also a nice touch, allowing for seamless integration into smart home systems.

Noise Level

While the Q5 Pro is not completely silent, it operates at a noise level that is manageable and not disruptive. Many users reported being able to run the vacuum while watching TV without too much disturbance, which is a significant plus for those who prefer a quieter cleaning solution.

Areas for Improvement

Despite its many strengths, some users noted that the Q5 Pro could occasionally struggle with larger debris, such as socks or cords, which might get caught in the rollers. Regular checks to clear any jams are advisable to maintain optimal performance. Additionally, while the mopping feature works adequately for light cleaning, it may not replace traditional mopping for deeper cleans.

Price Point

At a competitive price point, the Roborock Q5 Pro offers a lot of value for its features. Given the robust performance, smart navigation, and dual functionality, it’s an investment that most users feel is worth it, especially for those with pets.

11 reviews for Roborock Q5 Pro Robot Vacuum & Mop

  1. Jimmy

We purchased the Roborock Q5 Pro+ for our carpeted second floor, and it has exceeded our expectations compared to our previous midrange iRobot. The suction power is outstanding, easily lifting dust and crumbs. It tackles carpets with impressive efficiency, leaving them looking revitalized.

The navigation is smooth and accurate, and it maneuvers around furniture without getting stuck. The auto-empty dock is a game-changer—no more constant emptying of the bin! The app is incredibly intuitive, allowing us to schedule cleanings and establish no-go zones with ease.

In summary, this robot vacuum is an excellent upgrade. It’s dependable, efficient, and offers great value for its performance. We highly recommend it!

  2. Mark A. Correa

We initially ordered a Rhoomba, but it didn’t offer mapping features. After watching some videos, I discovered this vacuum had excellent reviews. Originally priced at $250, I snagged it on sale for just $139! The setup was straightforward, the app’s mapping is fantastic, and it picks up everything! My floors are left spotless, and once I set a schedule, it runs automatically. I appreciate its efficiency in covering the area to ensure nothing is missed. It operates quietly and reliably. The battery life is impressive, and the trash bin has a generous capacity. I’ve only used the mop feature once, but it performed adequately as well.

  3. owen

I have to admit that I was initially very skeptical about its effectiveness; however, after the first cleaning, I was 1000% convinced! We have two dogs that shed a lot, and once we activated the Roborock, our home looked spotless. It vacuums and sweeps perfectly, and it’s incredibly easy to use—you can activate or schedule it whenever you want. The mopping feature isn’t its strongest suit, but if your floors don’t get too dirty, it can still work. That said, the vacuuming power is definitely its best feature. I did my research on many brands, and Roborock really impressed me!

  4. Cristi

I can’t express how much I love this little device! I have a 200lb English Mastiff, and keeping the dog hair off the floor is a massive daily task. On top of that, I also have two Yorkies and a toy Schnauzer. My Mastiff sheds enough hair to create piles the size of my smaller dogs, but this vacuum not only keeps the floors clear of hair but also saves me from having to use a broom or stick vacuum every day. The app is fantastic, and scheduling is a breeze. My house is 2000 sq ft, and it took about 15 minutes to map everything out and another 10 minutes to set up the schedule. It even cleans under my bed and dressers, which surprised me given its height. The mopping feature is decent; it gets the job done and leaves the house smelling fresh, although it essentially just drags a wet rag around. It doesn’t scrub the floors, so I prefer to do that myself weekly, but I’m fine with it. This gadget is worth every penny!

  5. Heck

What I appreciate most is that it rarely gets stuck, and I don’t have to worry about emptying the container for quite some time. It effectively handles hair, and cleaning the rollers takes just 2 minutes—great design! It covers an entire 1300 sq ft floor with 65% battery remaining.

The programming is mostly excellent, with a few minor quirks, but overall it’s quite intuitive. The suction power is sufficient for all surfaces; it’s not too loud, though it can be difficult to hear the TV when it’s running. It does a really good job, and if I run it twice, especially on dirtier floors, it cleans everything 100%.

I haven’t tried the mopping feature since it just drags a wet sponge around; I’d prefer a rotating mop for better efficiency. It probably wouldn’t handle pet messes well, but I don’t operate it unattended.

  6. Pawel P

The product seems to be nice and effective, but the seller is offering it in the Saudi market, where the voltage is not suitable for its operation. They should avoid selling it in markets that are incompatible with the product!

  7. Richard

Outstanding!! My constant companion!! It does an excellent job!! Very good!! I highly recommend it!! It keeps my house spotless with minimal effort!!

  8. Micah

Having used the Roborock Q5 Pro Plus for a while, I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, its power is impressive—sometimes even a bit too much. This vacuum has a tendency to unexpectedly suck up children’s socks and other larger items without any warning. It also doesn’t alert you when something gets jammed in the rollers, which means it will stop cleaning until you notice the issue and check on it. As a result, you need to monitor it more closely than you would with a typical robot vacuum.

Another point to consider is the waste tray. While it does an excellent job of picking up dirt and debris, it doesn’t always empty completely on its own, so you’ll have to manually check and clear it from time to time.

That said, when it’s running smoothly, it cleans exceptionally well. The navigation is top-notch, allowing it to move around your home with ease. The app controls are a nice feature, letting you customize cleaning schedules and set no-go zones, which is helpful for avoiding specific areas.

Overall, it’s a solid vacuum as long as you’re okay with checking on it regularly. Just be cautious about it taking in your socks!

For the price, this is a significant upgrade from the old “Dumb” Robovac I had from iRobot. That one took over two hours to clean, bouncing around and rarely going in a straight line for more than 10 feet. This new model is impressively fast and efficient, utilizing Lidar technology to navigate in straight lines with excellent obstacle avoidance. It completes the same cleaning job in just 20-30 minutes and cleans just as well.

I found that adjusting the cleaning intensity level was necessary since it comes set to low out of the box. Once I increased it to the second highest setting, its performance matched that of my old Robovac. This is precisely what I wanted in a new Robovac. I don’t need automatic bin emptying or mopping; I just want effective cleaning with strong suction and preferably in straight lines. Maintenance is also much easier—this design is far superior to my old vacuum.

I hit the jackpot! Snagged it during the Amazon Black Day promotion for $249.99.
    1) Hardware Setup: I followed the instructions on the large startup sheet, and it was pretty straightforward, even for me.
    2) App Installation (Easy): I successfully installed the app on my Android phone.
    3) App Registration and Sign-On: This was the trickiest part since my password never seemed strong enough, but after 5-6 tries, it finally worked. Seriously, who would want to hack my robot vacuum?
    4) Connecting to Wi-Fi: Make sure you have your Wi-Fi credentials handy (network name and password). Connecting was a bit tricky; it took me 2 or 3 attempts before I saw the glorious green text saying “successful connection.”
    5) Operation: I won’t give too much away, but watching this little guy in action is a delight. I set it to “FULL” mode from my app, and it ran for an hour. It actually cleans, and my wife is thrilled. We have a shedding Shiba Inu—need I say more?
Update Dec 28, 2024: Just a heads up, you’ll need to do a weekly cleaning; otherwise, the unit may not perform well due to hair and other debris.
Update Jan 3, 2025: This little wonder might have saved my marriage, LOL. The floors have never been cleaner, especially in hard-to-reach spots like under the bed. It has taken the daily burden of sweeping and dusting off my wife’s shoulders, and the air quality has improved too. Bottom line: “IT REALLY WORKS.”

  11. Jimmy

This auto-vacuum has been an incredibly useful addition to my home. It effectively picks up dust, crumbs, and pet hair, leaving my floors feeling much cleaner after each run. The navigation is quite impressive—most of the time, it maneuvers around furniture effortlessly and returns to its dock without a hitch. However, it does occasionally have trouble with thicker rugs or cords, so I’ve started picking those up beforehand.

One feature I really appreciate is how quiet it is. You can hear it working, but it’s not disruptive—I’ve even allowed it to run while watching TV. The scheduling option is fantastic as well; I typically set it to clean while I’m out, and it’s such a pleasure to return to spotless floors. Sometimes it overlooks a spot or two, particularly in tight corners or beneath low furniture, so I do a quick manual touch-up now and then.

All in all, it’s been a tremendous help in keeping my space tidy. While it’s not flawless, it significantly reduces the time and effort I spend on cleaning, which is what I wanted. If you’re busy and dislike sweeping, this is definitely worth considering!
