Buyer’s Guide for the Kenmore Pet Friendly Vacuum Cleaner

The Kenmore vacuum boasts a 2-motor system and HEPA filtration, making it ideal for households with pets.

This vacuum is outstanding! I desperately needed to upgrade from my old, worn-out upright vacuum. While I couldn’t justify splurging on a Miele or Sebo, I decided to give this canister vacuum a shot, and I’m thrilled I did! For the price, it’s tough to beat. All the tools are easy to store, and the suction power is impressive. You can turn the vacuum on and off and adjust the suction strength right from the wand. The adjustable wand length makes it simple to reach corners and ceilings. The main attachment works wonderfully on both hardwood floors and carpets, and its low-profile design allows me to easily clean under couches and furniture. The only downside is that it can be somewhat cumbersome, but I believe that’s a fair trade-off for the impressive functionality it provides. Overall, this vacuum is fantastic and delivers at least 95% of the performance of a much more expensive model, all at a fraction of the cost.

This vacuum cleaner is not intended for the European market as it is designed for 120 volts. It’s quite questionable why it is being sold on amazon.de in Germany. I could understand if it were from amazon.us, but the sole indication of 120 volts raises concerns; it could have been a typographical error, considering there are other vacuums listed with 800 volts. One wonders where those would even be plugged in! Thank you, Amazon.de, for the extra trip to the post office with 11.5 kilos. The seller gets 1 star from me.

Sturdy construction with impressive speed thanks to the dual motor system. The suction power is exceptional. It is somewhat pricey, but the long cord is a definite plus. It’s certainly not lightweight. Overall, it performs very well.

This compact vacuum offers impressive suction, which is definitely its standout feature. I’ve ended up with three of them! It’s also lightweight, making it easy to handle. I rated it a 4 because the bags don’t quite fit the canister properly—they’re a bit too large. It seems Kenmore is using a “one bag fits all” approach. While two of the three accessories are decent, the large floor brush feels cheaply made. I recommend keeping any attachments from your old Kenmore vacuums as they will work with this model.
*** PS: I initially bought the 200 series, which also has good suction, but the on/off switch is located on the canister rather than the handle, and there’s no holder for the accessories. I later purchased the BC3005 and love it! The power switch is conveniently on the handle, and it includes an attachment that holds the accessories on the wand. Just be cautious when ordering; the differences can be subtle, but investing a little extra is worth it.

I purchased “The Purple One” for my mom, and she absolutely loves her new vacuum! The attachments are incredibly easy to switch out, and the adjustable suction power is perfect for delicate tasks like cleaning curtains or blinds. This model features a longer hose and a convenient pivot wheel at the front, making it a breeze to maneuver. It comes with plenty of useful attachments. Although she doesn’t have pets, the pet attachment with power nozzle will certainly make cleaning furniture and upholstery a cinch. The adjustable wand extends quite a bit, allowing for easy vacuuming of high areas or walls. Plus, the hose and cord lengths are longer than most other vacuums. After researching extensively on various sites, Mom chose this model, and it truly offers great value for the price. Parts and replacement bags appear to be easily accessible as well. If you’re in the market for a canister vacuum, this one is definitely worth considering!

I bought the Kenmore 600 Series Canister Vacuum Cleaner in July and wanted to wait a bit before sharing my thoughts. I typically prefer to invest in higher-end products to ensure they hold up over time, and I’m pleased to say this vacuum has exceeded my expectations!
I absolutely love this canister vacuum! I’ve always preferred canister models over upright ones, and Kenmore has consistently impressed me. The suction power is outstanding. I appreciate the adjustable suction feature; simply slide it down when you’re about to vacuum delicate items, and it releases, which is perfect for avoiding accidents with small rugs.
The vacuum comes with handy onboard attachments, and the little door opens with just a tap of your foot, complete with a small light. It includes a well-sized beater bar for carpets, which can be swapped out for a floor attachment if needed. The extended wand is great for reaching high places, too.
And can we talk about the color? The purple is absolutely stunning! I’m very happy with my purchase and take extra care of it because it’s just so beautiful. It also has a HEPA filter, which is a nice bonus.
Oh, and I can still use the bags from my previous Kenmore vacuum (an Elegance in Spring Green), which is a plus. I may be forgetting some details, but overall, I highly recommend this vacuum!

I’ve been a loyal supporter of Kenmore products for 50 years, as has my family. So, when my previous Kenmore canister vacuum finally gave out after years of heavy use (thanks to teenagers and a dog), I decided to buy another one without hesitation. It arrived quickly, and I was excited to put it to work. It performed wonderfully on hardwood floors and area rugs, offering great suction and power for pet hair. I was very pleased—until, after just one month, the hose unexpectedly detached from the canister. I tried to reassemble it, but when I plugged it in and turned it on, sparks flew everywhere. It was alarming! Amazon handled the return smoothly and sent a replacement. Sadly, two months later, the exact same issue occurred with the new vacuum. My husband tried to put it together gently, but once again, sparks flew. This situation is quite frightening!
I checked my Amazon account to see what to do next and discovered that they only cover one return. I was directed to Kenmore, who informed me that they would send a new part, but it’s currently out of stock and on back order. Interestingly, the part they’re sending is for a different model; they assured me it would fit, albeit possibly in a different color. They mentioned it could take a month to arrive, and if it doesn’t show up by then, I should call back. Meanwhile, my house is filled with pet hair from my large Labrador shedding his winter coat. I inquired about getting a complete replacement, but I was told that the entire vacuum is also back ordered. I’m left waiting for this part, and if it doesn’t arrive, they’ll determine the next steps. This is a significant issue for me. With both vacuums failing in the same manner, I can’t give the product a positive review. There seems to be a defect or weakness, and my experience with Kenmore’s customer service hasn’t been satisfactory either.
I returned to check for any follow-up comments from Amazon or Kenmore on this review and found none. I decided to look through other negative reviews and realized I’m experiencing the exact same problems: hose connection issues and the sparks. I never read the reviews beforehand because I’ve trusted Kenmore for decades—my family has used their washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators, and freezers (I even have a 43-year-old Kenmore chest freezer still functioning well). I thought there was no need to check the reviews, which turned out to be a mistake.
The new hose/part finally arrived about a week or so ago, but due to illness, I couldn’t test it right away. Today, I finally got to try it out, and surprise, surprise—the new part does NOT work! It looks just like the failed part. The representative had mentioned it wouldn’t be the exact part for my model, but one that fits a similar model that uses the same hose. Apparently, that’s not the case! I’m now six months past my original purchase and uncertain of who to contact next. When I finally reach customer service, will they tell me I’m past the warranty period? So, is my $348.15 just wasted? I’ll update again after today’s call, but at this point, it’s clear that a refund seems the most reasonable solution since another new machine won’t resolve the issue if this model is defective.

I previously owned a Kenmore canister vacuum and loved it, but after about 20 years, it started to wear out. I tried a couple of cordless vacuums, which were decent, but they didn’t meet my cleaning standards. So, I decided to return to the Kenmore canister vacuum, and I was amazed by the improvements they’ve made. I appreciate that the power switch is now located on the handle and that all the tools are easily accessible. The suction on this purple vacuum is incredible! You can adjust the suction power right from the handle, which is necessary for vacuuming rugs. It has so much power that it nearly pulls the handle from my grip. My home feels significantly cleaner now, and I’m hopeful that this vacuum will last me another 20 years.

I purchased the purple pet vacuum, and while it’s handy to have all the accessories included, it’s incredibly heavy and cumbersome. The pet attachment broke after minimal use. The excessive plastic design makes it difficult to quickly switch to a corner brush; you have to reattach another brush because the telescopic wand is too large. The suction is decent, but the brush is overly powerful, getting stuck on regular flat carpets and requiring a reset. I really dislike vacuuming, and this machine only makes it worse. Now I’m stuck with it for at least another year, and it seems most products don’t last much longer than that anyway. On the bright side, it’s good to know we don’t have to keep appliances for decades anymore, as they often don’t last that long. I can’t help but wonder if the vacuum manufacturers have ever actually used one themselves…

I recently upgraded from a 24-year-old Kenmore canister vacuum, and I’m very impressed with this new model. It has a sturdy build and operates much more quietly than my previous vacuum while being lighter in weight. The adjustable suction feature is fantastic, allowing me to switch from powerful suction for deep cleaning to lighter suction for delicate area rugs. The telescopic wand is a great addition, making it easy for me and my 6-foot tall husband to clean high spots without straining. I also appreciate the variety of accessories included, which all fit neatly inside the canister. Plus, I can use my 10-pack of 5055 (Q/C) vacuum bags from my old vacuum, so I’m not wasting money. Overall, I’m loving the upgraded features, the lightweight design, and the beautiful purple color. I highly recommend the Kenmore 600 series pop-n-go vacuum!

I’ve come across some less-than-stellar reviews for this vacuum, and it seems those users might have received defective units—unfortunate, but it happens, and they definitely deserve replacements. Meanwhile, we’re absolutely thrilled with our new powered head vacuum featuring HEPA filtration. It’s a significant upgrade from our trusty 23-year-old Kenmore that finally gave out last year. After trying a Miele for about a year, which was decent on hardwood but fell short on carpet, we decided to give Kenmore another shot during Prime Day, and it did not disappoint! I could almost feel it tackling a year’s worth of dirt that the Miele missed on its first run (yikes!).
Pros:
Cons:
I just hope this vacuum lasts us another 20+ years!
